Debra posted a cool little hack: Hacking the Twitter javascript which makes some improvements on the Twitter JavaScript, the most important being so it won’t hang your page while Twitter data is being retrieved. Which we all know is a very good thing considering how much of a beating Twitter is taking these days.

Very nice little hack indeed.

[b]Update:[/b] Debra pointed out that Jonathan over at Plugged out solved the no-hanging problem with the Twitter JavaScript.

Thanks for the mention! Just don’t give me credit for the non-hanging thing, which I wouldn’t have been able to write myself anyway. I made some changes to a hack already available at PluggedOut (http://www.pluggedout.com/2007/03/23/solving-the-twitter-javascript-hang/#comment-3932).

Yup, it’s me ;) I’ll update the post to link to Plugged out. I knew I recognized that domain too, Jonathan and his Wife used to run one of my favorite writing sites.
