Twitterlicious 1.1.2

posted in Twitter Clients, Windows on 04/02/07 at 06:04 PM

Twitterlicious 1.1.2 has been released with support for the new API changes. Twitterlicious is a Windows client for twitter, which I once had trouble finding. I haven’t had a chance to load this one up, but I’ll work on reviewing it in the next couple of days.

TwitBox 0.5.1 Available

posted in Twitter Clients, Windows on 03/31/07 at 10:03 PM

New version of TwitBox (0.5.1) available for download here. This new version looks appears to be primarily a maintenance release with a few bug fixes. This client is well worth checking out if you haven’t yet.

TriQQr Screen Shot

Here is another Twitter Client for Windows, though it doesn’t support Vista yet. It’s seems to have the standard features, my favorite being a handy drop down to make it easy to select a friend to send a direct tweet to.

So far it seems a little buggy though, but it’s a beta (early one?). If you mouse over the tweets area and move down, it “crawls” the tweets down. When you move your mouse back up, nothing happens. I looks like they pop back to the top when you get a new tweet, but that’s kind of annoying. You have to click on their name instead of the whole row to see the entire tweet up top and the config icon doesn’t do anything (yet). Most of the screens are icons or English, but the login screen isn’t. No big deal, it’s obvious what they are.

This is version 0.2 so I’m sure this tool will get better. It’s off to a decent start. I’ll certainly keep checking it out.

Download it here.

TwitBox 0.5.0

posted in Twitter Clients, Windows on 03/30/07 at 02:03 PM

New Windows Client, TwitBox, has been released. It’s built on the .NET TwitterCore from RareEdge Design Group, the people and source code behind Twitteroo. Loks like mainly some interface changes with some nifty keyboard shortcuts. I love the double click will put @[user screen name], a feature I’d like to see ALL Twitter clients use. This client is off to a good start.

Twessenger for Windows Live Messenger

posted in Windows on 03/30/07 at 12:03 PM

Another tool for Windows users, Twessenger, which pulls in your latest tweets into your Personal Message in Windows Live Messenger. It would be cool if you could also send/receive tweets with it, but this is still a pretty neat usage for the Twitter API and/or RSS feeds.

I love my Mac, but I also run several PCs and I was hoping there was a windows Twitter client like the fantastic Twitterific. Enter Twitteroo.

Features include:

* Update your Twitter status from your Desktop
* URL shortening via rurl.org
* Twitter notifications
* View your Friends timeline or the Public timeline
* Clickable links from status messages
* Refreshes automatically or manually
* Set refresh time and notification transparency
* Support for international characters in status messages
* Browse to Twitter user page or personal websites
* Customize Twitteroo font size
* Set transparency for main Twitteroo window and notifications
* Optional sound notification when new tweets arrive
* Bite-sized cookies made from real Twitter

One of my favorite features being the support of URl shortening.

So, my Windows friends, rejoice. There is a tool for you too!
