Gtalk Twitter Hack

posted in Hacks on 11/08/07 at 02:11 PM

For all of you productivity people out there, like myself, you’ll like this hack.

Renjus posts Creating and receiving event reminders in Google Talk through twitter which is very easy way to setup reminders on the go. Since I have a Sidekick, I like the idea of using SMS and Twitter to update things like to do lists, calendars and reminders so this is right up my ally.

Just got a tip to a sweet little mashup idea - Tweet Mobile: Ask questions via Twitter and get real humans answer them. Tweet Mobile hooks you into Mosio, the source for the Q&A. Check out Mosio’s Tweet Mobile Q&A page to learn how to use the service (easy, just use Twitter!) or follow them on Twitter, of course.

Thanks Noel, who worked on the project for the tip!

Attend Blog World Expo via Twitter

posted in OpEd on 11/05/07 at 02:11 PM

I really wanted to go to Blog World Expo but alas, I just can’t get away. Luckily I’ll be able to follow along via Blogworld on Twitter. I’ll be there next time and maybe I’ll do some live blogging for everyone.

Twitter Guide

posted in Twitter Help on 11/05/07 at 02:11 PM

Carol has posted the best Twitter Guide that I’ve seen so far. If you are trying to introduce Twitter to friends or family, send them to Carol’s guide. It’s excellent. She took the time to really break things out into logical topics and even uses copious pictures to illustrate what’s happening.

Writer’s Write is covering the Writers’ Strike via Twitter. These are the same folks who publish Bloggers Blog and have been doing a great job of using Twitter to communicate with members and I imagine gain new readers. I love the idea of using Twitter to follow a story. This is not as “important” socially as the California Wildfires story but the impact it could have on Hollywood may end up costing more than 500 Million dollars! Not to mention a lot of people starved for entertainment, which could mean more people turning to the Internets for a bit. Though shows will likely continue well into Feb sweeps before we really start seeing the effects of the strike.

Follow the story via Twitter: Writer’s Write Writers’ Strike

TwitterPoster is a clever visual mashup that shows you a virtual “poster” of who has more influence on Twitter. This is a pretty useful tool from a marketing perspective: now I know exactly which Twitter users to focus on making my friends ;) You can also view posters for specific countries like USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, China etc.
